Why Zeally
A single purposeful ingredient.
Our Blue Lily Tea contains one ingredient: blue lotus flowers (petals and stamen). No blending to mask a weak base herb, no fillers and no flavouring. The quality of the flower speaks for itself.
Ethically sourced from Sri Lanka.
Our blue lotus is grown using traditional organic practices by grassroots farmers in Sri Lanka. Ethical sourcing matters to us and the provenance of each ingredient is something we take seriously across the entire range.
A ritual as much as a product.
Blue lotus has been used for thousands of years across ancient Egyptian and Asian traditions, not just as medicine but as a ceremonial plant associated with calm, clarity and inner harmony. There is something intentional about brewing a cup of blue lotus that goes beyond the functional. It is an invitation to slow down.
The stress and cleanse connection.
Stress is one of the leading contributors to candida overgrowth and gut imbalance. Supporting the nervous system during a cleanse is as important as the herbs themselves.

HOW TO USE
Blue Lotus Tea

On Your Cleanse
Brew a cup each evening during your cleanse. This is when the body is doing its most active work of elimination overnight and the nervous system most benefits from support. The calming effect of nuciferine may help quieten the restlessness that can accompany the first week of a cleanse and support deeper more restorative sleep during the protocol.

Classic Steep
Add 1 tablespoon of blue lotus flowers to your tea infuser or strainer. Pour over boiling water and steep for 5 minutes. Longer steeping increases bitterness so keep an eye on the time. The liquor will be a soft golden colour with a beautiful honey-like aroma. Sip slowly and enjoy.

Honey Lotus Latte
Brew a concentrated cup using slightly less water than usual. Froth or gently warm your milk of choice and pour over the lotus concentrate. Add a small drizzle of raw honey and a pinch of cinnamon. This variation is particularly popular in the evenings as a warming bedtime drink

FAQ
Yes when consumed in moderate quantities as directed. Blue lotus has a centuries-long history of safe traditional use. The key is moderation: 1 cup per day brewed for 5 minutes is appropriate for most people. High intake can produce mind-altering effects so we do not recommend exceeding 2 cups per day or using excessively strong brews. Do not drive after consuming.
At normal serving sizes the effects of blue lotus are subtle. Most people describe a gentle sense of calm rather than anything psychoactive. It is not intoxicating at typical serving sizes however high doses or very concentrated brews can produce stronger effects which is why we recommend drinking one cup at a time and steeping for no more than 7 minutes.
Yes at one cup per day. We recommend making it part of an evening routine. Daily use at moderate doses is how blue lotus has been consumed traditionally across cultures for thousands of years. For those going through a cleanse we particularly encourage a daily evening cup throughout the protocol.
Two reasons. First, cleansing often disrupts sleep especially in the first week as the body becomes more active in its elimination processes overnight. The calming effect may help quieten this restlessness and support deeper sleep during the protocol. Second, stress is a leading contributor to candida overgrowth and ongoing gut imbalance. Managing stress during a cleanse is as important as the herbs themselves and tea may help address that dimension directly.
We do not recommend Calming Lily Tea during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Blue lotus contains naturally occurring plant compounds that have not been sufficiently studied in pregnant or breastfeeding populations to confirm safety. As with all herbal products during pregnancy we recommend erring on the side of caution and consulting your healthcare provider or midwife before use.
