Our castor oil is sourced GMO free and cold-pressed using no chemical solvents. Hexane is commonly used in commercial oil extraction to increase yield. It leaves trace residues in the oil and strips away naturally occurring nutrients in the process. Ours contains none. What you get is the full nutrient profile of the castor seed exactly as nature produced it.

Castor oil is sensitive to light and heat. Plastic bottles can leach chemicals into oil over time particularly with repeated handling. We package ours in our amber glass dropper bottles to protect the oil from light degradation and keep it pure from the first drop to the last.

Refining strips castor oil of naturally occurring fatty acids, antioxidants and nutrients to improve colour and smell. We use unrefined oil because the naturally occurring compounds are precisely what make it effective. The slight colour and viscosity of unrefined castor oil is a sign of quality not a flaw.

It is the original multi-use beauty and wellness oil and the one we always recommend as the starting point for anyone building a cleaner more intentional beauty routine.

Castor oil's unique profile comes from its unusually high concentration of ricinoleic acid, an omega-9 fatty acid that makes up 85 to 92% of its total fatty acid content. No other commonly used oil comes close to this concentration. Ricinoleic acid has a distinct molecular structure that allows it to penetrate deeply into the skin and hair shaft rather than sitting on the surface, which is what gives castor oil its deeply nourishing and conditioning qualities.

For hair and scalp, castor oil works by coating and conditioning the hair shaft to reduce breakage and improve elasticity. Applied to the scalp it nourishes the follicle environment and supports healthy circulation in the area. Regular consistent use over weeks and months is what produces the most meaningful results for hair density and growth.

For skin, the fatty acid profile of castor oil supports the skin's natural moisture barrier, helping to lock in hydration and prevent water loss. It is particularly effective on very dry or rough areas where lighter oils do not provide enough richness.

For lashes and brows, castor oil works by conditioning the hair follicle and the hair shaft itself, supporting the natural growth cycle and reducing breakage and fallout. Results build with consistent nightly application over 6 to 8 weeks.
